random google searching F65 sensor photos I came across this photo:

From another dvx post back in 2011 about the F65. Called the F65 T-Head.

JM the authority on all cinema cameras, have you seen this before?

I wonder if they ever made any for real or if we are looking at an empty carbon fiber box. I can't find any mention of them past the release info.

They were designed to be a lightweight detachable with fiber optic feed for 3D and Steadicam, but I dont think they ever materialized.

They were early (pre movie!) and missed the boat.

The odd thing is I would not design a serious camera that did not have a detachable chip block.

1) for remote use
2) for upgrades

Yachacha, you're too kind.

David beat me to it, although incidentally I never would have known what this was. I do know that Sony eventually made a link for you to use the F65's recorder away from the camera head.

To be honest, most productions seem to use the F55 for weight-critical applications where the F65 is an A-Camera, so possibly Sony knew that camera was coming and hence didn't bother developing a more lightweight F65?

I remember that. Looking at the splash the Alexa Mini is making it kind of makes you think the great things Sony could do if they believed more in themselves and had project leaders who actually understood the cinema market.
