Carbon Cage Struts With Threaded Inserts

CPM Camera Rigs

DVXuser Sponsor
For those that requested additional threaded holes on the sides of the struts we modified the tooling to accept four 1/4-20 inserts per side and just finished replacing our current stock. All cage's are shipping in this new configuration. Also all belly pans are also shipping with two 1/4-20 threaded inserts per side. We are also taking the opportunity to mold the medium and large struts in this configurations so all those kits will ship in this configuration as well. Updated picture will be on the site later this week.

After the medium and large struts are molded the shoulder pad mold will be run and those that ordered shoulder kits will get those part shipped, no charge. Shoulder pads should all ship next week.

Wow this looks great, I was wondering will you have a booth at the upcoming Nab show because I would love to see the rig in person before I buy but i think this has been what I have been looking for to rig up my camera with. Thanks

Hello Steve,
That stuff looks great! I just ordered the small uni-strut for my canon 7D hoping it will fit my cinevate 15mm rails. If everything is good I will probably get the handle kit as well. So I will be getting the newest version with the side threads???? I hope to. Thanks.

We are a little late to the game in regards to NAB, still implementing feedback items from testers and customers. We do plan on being there next year though. Until then we tried to get as many demo kits out to as many reviewers as possible. Short of testing one out we hope that the reviews will help give people an idea of the type of components we are producing.

I just noticed your order! Thank you! You should have no problems with the strut fitting your rods. We have several customers that are utilizing exisitng rods to save costs. All struts are the new version, so yes you are good to go!

hello again Steve,
When will this order of mine ship?.....It is still showing the status as "Processing". Would I be able to add the handle kit to this order before it ships without more shipping charges being added?

The order is back in shipping, it will go out Monday. Go ahead and place the order, I will put it in the box and make sure you don't pay shiping charges on it.

Thanks,

Steve

Steve, I have now ordered the Handle kit. Thankyou in advance for removing the shipping cost so I do not get charged double.

DSLR Flyer Cage Kit

Why does this come with 2.75" rails? that seems very small.
I like this but want it with a second set of 7" rails.

Can I get that?

Yup, made the changes. I will upgrade the picture this afternoon. We basically are not charging for the 2.75 rods, they where just drops from when we cut our rods. Just figured it looked better then empty holes. That said, we made it qty 4 - 7" rods as it is more usefull with full top rods.

Mini-Review for CPM film tools, small uni-strut and top handle kit

Mini-Review for CPM film tools, small uni-strut and top handle kit

I had added the handle kit to my original order late as I was not sure at first. They went out of their way to make sure I was not charged again for shipping after adding it. So customer service seems pretty decent and responded to my messages.

My Order arrived in a timely manner, and packaging was very neat and professional.
Both items are very nice looking and look good as part of my rig. I don't know what the weight of both items are but I can say that it is not very significant. Very light weight and strong material. Products fit to my existing Cinevate rails (15mm and 60mm center to center. The prices are very fair for these kinds of products.

At this point, all I wanted was a top handle solution for my rig and this worked out very well for me. Happy I found them and very happy about my purchase. I am now considering purchasing the side handles from them. I wish that I would have gone with the medium sized uni-strut for a little more clearance on the 7D's right hand side (battery side) but maybe later.

Thanks for all the help to Steve @ CPM Film Tools.

Regarding the packaging you guys use. You can save yourself some money and lose the vacuum sealed plastic approach. I would be content with just the loose parts in the delivery envelope and without all that waste. Its also a pain to remove on smaller pieces.

I forgot to add the washers to my order, and before I got around to add them to my order,
my order was at my door step.

That was a fast transaction.

I ordered the small struts and (4) 7" rails, belly tray and other tray,
not sure how I will configure this, as I want to use a shoulder pad in there somehow.

I did like the handle grips and i connected them upside down (so they point upwards).

I want the camera below the top rail if at all possible.

Is the shoulder pad ready yet?
I think i will order longer rails and a shoulder pad next.
