Really old. If I recall correctly this was advertised in indie movie magazines when your only choice was vhs or beta, perhaps even before then. Before the internet even. Hell if I look hard enough (not going to though) I could probably find the vhs demo tape I ordered from them.

I was thinking about it. I decided not to simply because none of the projects I have in mind would require something like it, but I do see myself make shifting one in the future, no doubt really. Seems like an easy contraption that would be very inexpensive to make.

Anyway, feel free to leave this thread at that. I hadn't realized so many others already knew about it and it was so old hat. Sorry.
 
Any tool that works is a good one... but I laughed at the line "panning is no more difficult then with a fluid head... the technique is different, but the results are the same." Uh... yeah, riiiiiight.

The clip is inspirational though... seriously... I'm inspired. I'm going to make something like this now. I'll report back when it's finished.
