Car accident

The other night i was hit by a drunk driver. here are some pictures of my car...

yea somehow i walked away from it without a scratch. the suv hit me head on and pushed me back a good 20 feet into the grass. sore neck and shoulders that was about the extent of it
 
thats for sure. as for the healing thing. im working a job this whole month and they put me up in this nice hotel. its like a working vacation!

Went through the same thing but was hit on the front side. Car was a complete write off.
Glad you walked away from it unscathed!

Sometimes you can be unlucky and lucky at the same time.
Did you get a slight reaction from the air bag deployment?

yup. and i kinda out grew that car. it was my teenage "fast and furious" car. have been wanting something normal for a while now. got the car 4 years ago for $6000, and insurance is giving me $5800

wow man, glad you are okay. did you go to the doctor yet to get your sore neck and shoulders checked out?
 
no, didnt have time, had a month long shoot starting the next day. but its been less than a week and i feel 100%. was going to go to the doctors in spare time, but now am not seeing the need... might still go to get a report for insurance purposes
 
wow...your lucky night man...holy moly.

as a former drunkdriver, i can say that i am so glad i didn't do that to someone...my eventual DUI saved my a$$, and the a$$es of so many others.

swanky hotel though man, live it up!

I went straight from the scene of the accident to the hospital for a barrage of tests. Always best to be careful. Things can show up later that you don't notice right away. Especially concerning jolting neck injuries.

If you ever had to seek compensation then waiting to get tested won't help.
Of course over here (Canada) it was free and I didn't even think twice about it. Not sure if you are covered or not. If you are go for a once over, just to be safe.

Anyway, glad you are doing well.

Go to the doctor. Even if they have to bill you, you can send the bill to the other guys insurance (or your lawyer)
 
Here where I live the first thing you do is go to the doctors and if something is wrong sue the other driver (well demand money to his/her insurance company)......
 
I was in a car crash a few years ago. My fault, I fell asleep at the wheel after a 17 hour shoot day but didn't hurt anybody else. My car looked a lot better than yours afterwards, but I suffered lower body injuries which has affected my career a lot. It could have been a lot worse for me, but it still has had a negative and ongoing consequences. I'm glad you got out unscathed, I think you were very lucky! Be careful everyone!
 
I used to despise people who gave this sort of advice... but I'm telling you... if my car looked like that... and the other insurance company thought they'd simply be cutting a check for the VALUE of the car???!!! Um... it's attorney time... if you didn't already miss it. Dude you NEARLY DIED.

I was rear-ended by a careless driver that hit me at a dead stop... at a red light... at full speed. I thought I was fine... but later woke up with a stiff neck... for oh... about the next 6-9 MONTHS... and that didn't start until a couple weeks later... my biggest mistake was doing what you seem to have done... assuming I was totally fine as the other insurance company RUSHED to get things settled. That's standard practice...

Getting a check for the value of the car only... under those circumstances... is insane. That's like being grazed by a bullet and the other party makes it right by paying for a new shirt.
 
thats mattin for those words. I am not sure what to do at this point. I have been told not to sign anything from the other insurance company saying that I have no injuries. That would be waiving my right to ever get treatment paid for by them. And ive also been told to tell them when I talk to them that my neck still feels pain and apparently that would throw up a flag for them and they would automatically throw money at me trying to get things settled. I dunno. still doing my research and getting all the opinions i can
 
Wow... glad to see you in good spirits and healthy. Make sure to let the doc check you out real good and hope they never find anything.
