capturing video... interrupts

when i try to capture a video instead of capturing all the way through i occasionally have at least 1 interrupt in the middle of the capture... so I have to find where it interrupted and then manually rewind the tape deck (my Panasonic camera in this case..) and locate the place where Avid stopped capturing... then i have to recapture all over again. What's causing this? Errors are like buffer over runs and that sort.

I did adjust my capture options so that the length is 60 mins of capture. But it does not capture smoothly all the way through without an interruption where I have to resume capture again.

Hoping someone can enlighten me with a solution to this, as I'd like to leave the computer running while capturing my video into the computer without having to be in the area to "resume" the capture. Just leave it, grab a cup of coffee, without any worries while it transfers... :)

Yes, i'm capturing a 60 minute panasonic tape. I am using my DVX100b as the "tape deck." I let it run for capture into avid, and about half way I get a pop-up box that stops the capture, then I have to rewind the tape to the approximate place and continue where the capture last left off.

As for the time code, I didn't do anything with the time code settings, I just shoot as normal on the dvx100b 24p standard. So I'm not sure? If it's normal for there to be timecode breaks, then I suppose so.

Thanks,

JM
