i went to edit some test footage with my new dvx100b and it looks nothing like what my viewfinder had shown. lighting and colors were perfect on my viewfinder, but when i went to capture in premiere our faces were orange and redish. some shots had lights and some had sunlight from the windows only, but both gave an orangish look in premeire after looking fine on the viewfinder of the camera. i even played back the footage from my camera to the tv and the color is fine, its darker but no orange on our faces. any advice on settings of my camera to get rid of this orange when i film, what causes it? i edit with premiere, any settings you recommend to take out the orange and make the scenes lighter in editing? and why is the viewfinder showing different colors than the computer? and what cuases the orange faces? i white balanced every shot

It sounds like your camera and computer monitor are not calibrated the same. It's pretty common to see one thing in your camera, one thing from your monitor and one thing from your television if not all are calibrated. This is why many people spend the money on professional monitors that they are able to properly calibrate. Try adjusting your computer monitor settings and make sure that you have not drastically altered your viewfinder settings on your DVX.

also i shot in 24p, is there a setting in premiere i should put to 24p? i know in final cut you are supose, do i do this before i capture or in the timeline?

if your shooting in 24p normal (not advanced) then you don't have to do anything differently from capturing and editing 60i footage. If you shot 24p advanced then your going to want to import using advanced pulldown removal and edit in a 23.976 timeline.

In PP 2.0, it doesn't matter how you capture. 2.0 does it like Vegas and captures as 60i, and then removes pulldown only on a 24p timeline.

But the footage being 24p has nothing to do with the problem. It's probably partially a calibration issue and partially the difference between a computer monitor and a TV. Things always look different between the two.
