Capturing to different codecs

Forgive the ignorance.

- Can I capture 30 fps DVX100p footage via Final Cut Pro Log and Capture to a different codec, like DVCpro HD, all in that one capture step?

- Since DVCPro HD can handle purely progessive material, is there a way to capture this footage with a 30 fps time base, so I completely leave NTSC-land? I would then use a 30 fsp timebase in my sequence preset.

Does this make any sense? Any help would be great.

Thanks!

no dvcpro hd off of tape you get only what is on the tape which is dv once you have your footage captured try using compressor to make it dvcprohd.

why would you want to ahve dvcprohd anyways?
