Capturing question

(I'm very new)
I've read that if I record in 24p, I should capture my footage as 30 fps, and then open my project onto a 24p timeline and render it to achieve true 24p. When I do this, I end up getting trails behind objects that move more quickly (a car about 150 feet away traveling around 25mph at full zoom). Was what I read about capturing wrong (I read it on a forum, but I forgot what site)? Should I have just captured it as 24 fps in the first place?

Yes..capture in 24p mode..you shouldnt have problems...and if you have some advanced footage....Vegas also removes the pulldown. Just make sure your project settings are at 24p before capturing

Alright thanks. Sorry for being an idiot. I would have tried recapturing with the new settings but I'm leaving for Vegas very soon (still have to pack!) and won't be able to use the camera...I would've been thinking about this the whole time. Thanks again.

There's no "mode" to capture in. Just use Vegas to capture at default settings and drop the clips into a 24p timeline. You'll have no porblems. You don't even need to be in a 24p project when you capture.
