Capturing Problems

yeah I'm shooting in regular dv, like I always do without any problems until the other day up until now, the footage will not capture at all. I'm using Sony Vegas Pro Platinum, which I know it's not the editing system that is messed up because I just captured something with a different camera. The computer is doing anything with the camera, theres no sound, nothing pops up to be captured, and when I manual capture it on the editing system, it says Connect Video Device even though it is connected. I am fed up with this camera, along with this rediculous split screen problem, and the pro jvc number is all machines that don't answer anything. Anyone have a solution for this problem?
 
It's not the cammera its the editing software. I have the same problem and have no clue how to fix it. I ended up capturing on my laptop. On my pc it wont work it says the same thing urs says. My pcis way to powerfull then my laptop but for some reason it says not connected. So i tested it out on windows capture prog and it worked so it is def the nle, or it could be thesystem. Because even premire wouldint capture. The only captured prog on my pc is windows video capture.
