I just got a new DVX, after having my first one stolen. And the other night I went to capture some of the footage(I film skateboarding), which I shot with basically completely factory stock settings.
Everything looked fine one the LCD when I watched it back with my friend, but when I went to capture I hit some problems. I'm capturing using a Panasonic consumer camcorder, and I'm capturing through Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, on the new iMac.
Originally, Premiere wanted to capture pre-compressed footage, which I didn't want, so I changed the compression to none, the quality to best, and the color drop-down bar to "Millions of Colors+".
The footage looks decent, I just feel that I lost a bit more quality while capturing that I expected. There's a loss of detail on the edges of objects, and the skateboarders face isnt as sharp as I'd like. It's not a fuzziness you'd get through miss-focused footage, especially since I feel the same about some footage I captured shot with my friend's VX2100.
Any suggestions as to capture settings, or different capture methods?
Thanks,
Scott
