hey everyone. ok i looked everywhere and cant find an answer to this. i have a dvr box (comcast) and i want to get an hd concert i recorded off of there and into final cut pro (i have a mac). can i run it thru may camera into an NLE? I have no clue how to do it. any help would be awesome. thanx everyone :) oh, i have a dvx100a.

You could maybe do it as standard-def but not as high-def. Not even if you had an HD camcorder; no low-priced HD camcorder has an HD input.

you might look into an HDMI capture card - think I've seen a blackmagic at B&H for something like $250.

ok cool. thanx guys! I'm gonna try it as standard def. If it works i'll post the steps on how to take hd to sd thru the camera.:)

You would just go from the RCA outputs (red/white/yellow) into the corresponding inputs on the camera. Or use the S-Video output/input if possible. With the camera in VCR mode (making sure the inputs are set correctly), it should then just pass everything through firewire into the computer. You'd do a live capture in FCP.
