Capturing footage using ac adaptor - camera shut off

This happened only once so far.

But as I was capturing footage through the firewire connected with ac adaptor - just a direct capture from the camera - not from a tape.. the footage was being captured, and all of a sudden the camera shut off.. now this was after a reasonable amount of time. so maybe it was an automatic power off?
 
That does sound like the automatic shut off. if the camera isn't recording to tape, it will shut off after like 10 minutes or something. kinda annoying i know, does anyone know how to shut that off?
