Capturing footage from dvx100e to imovie09

Hello Members,

I am a new user; my name is Danny and I am from north London. My first question is this:

I have just bought a second hand DVX100E and also have a G5 with imovie09. Trouble is when I connect the two together the Mac doesn't recognise the DVX in the same way as it recognises my mini dv (JVC). Can anyone give this novice some advice on how to overcome this initial hurdle and extract what I shoot into the editing suite of imovie09?

make sure u press the button that puts it into playback mode, i'm not too familiar with imovie but try looking for settings that make sure your firewire device is connected, should be import movie from camera. make ur preferences according to ur framerate spec, and when u click import movie from camera there should be a tab on the bottom left that looks for ur devices and set all ur stuff accordingly. hope that helps
