Capturing diff. tapes in one camera

i have a dvx100b and a sony vx2000. Right now im using sony premium tapes for both. I capture with a consumer canon camera. Im thinking of switching the dvx tapes to panansonic tapes like pq tapes, because i think they would be better and have less chance of drop outs.

What i want to know is, would using the panny pq tape in dvx and using sony premium tapes, and then using the same capture camera for both tapes.
I figure capture cameras heads would get messed up, I dont care about capture camera for recording, but would it mess up capturing due to diff kinds of lubes. Say if i capture some footage off a tape in capture camera and then i put it back in dvx or vx2000, Would it mess the vx2000 or dvx100 up because lube might get on those tapes?

someone that knows and works with different tapes please give me all info about it. Thank you

its always best to stay with the same tape brand. if you have to swich tapes in between just make sure to run a tape cleaner before going back to your normal tapes.

You didnt read what i wrote all the way through I guess.

Im trying to find out if using my vx with sony tapes and dvx100 with panny tapes, and then capturing both of tapes with same capture camera, if i use capture camera for both tapes. Say i capture a piece of footage then put tape back in camera...will the residue from both tapes in capture camera mess my dvx and vx2000 up?

yes, it's possible because you are mixing tapes. the residue could transfer to the tape and end up in your shooting cameras. it is probably less likely, but still very possible.

easy solution, once the tape leaves the camera it shoots in, it never goes back in once it's been captured. tapes are cheap, no need to re-use them.

yea, i dont film over footage on tapes, but ill go out and shoot say like 15mins worth of a tape come home and capture it then use the rest of the tape the next day and so on.

sorry i guess i didnt get the whole drift of your question. but id have to agree with big boss im sure some residue will prob get transferred maybe not all the residue but maybe a tad from each tape.
