Capturing 25p in Premetie (lines showing)

Hi there,

I am capturing my footage from the DVX, that was shot in 25p to Premiere,

In Premiere 1.5, I am using (Video for Windows, Uncompressed AVI, Progressive) for the settings, and when I export, also progessive.

When I play back the file on my PC, It looks interlaced, I see lots of lines with movement.

Could anyone please tell me why?

Thanks,
Derrick

i noticed when i do slow motion on 25p sometimes it gives lines,,,, perhaps your using 24p on premiere,,,,,,, perhaps you use a pal camera and ntsc on premere,,,,,,, you might not have enough ram or out of date software,,,,,

This is what i do and it works:

1. Open Premiere Pro 1.5
2. Click New Project
3. Click Custom Settings
4. General - Time Base = 25.00
Pixel Aspect Ratio = D1/DV PAL (1.067)
Fields = No Fields Progressive Scan
5. Name it and press ok.
6. File - Capture (and get the clips that where recorderd in F5 or F6 (which is 25p)
7. Edit (without chaning speeds of clips)
8. File - Export Movie - Settings
9. General - File Type = Microsoft DV AVI
10. Video - Compressor = DV (PAL)
Frame Rate = 25.00
11. Keyframe And Rendering - Fields = No Fields (Progressive Scan)
Deinterlace Video Footage = Unticked (not ticked)
12. Press Ok, Press Save
13. Play back in windows media player 9, Windows XP, direct x 9, 6600 graphics card. 1gb ram,

If you still have problems try deinterlace video footage ticked........
or send out another help me message

Ha, it's the compressor setting under video, it's only got, DV (PAL), DV (NTSC), DV (24P Advance).

That probably does some sort of pulldown ?

DV PAL won´t do a pulldown. it is 25p so there are 50 fields anyway.
i guess DV (PAL) should work. did you try that? maybe you had NTSC on your other timeline.
and actually 25p as such would not be PAL anymore since one part of PAL is that it has 2 fields per frame.
