Capturing 24pA on PD-170p

Hello All,

I'm trying to capture some 24pA footage shot on the DVX-100a on the PAL PD-170P. The camera plays back the footage fine but neither AXP 5.2 or 4.6 wants to play ball. I've created a 23.976 NTSC project and set pulldown to advanced. There is no image in the record monitor and capture is impossible at any available res.
I've also tried a regular 30i project. Footage is played in the record monitor but when capture is attempted it errors out after a few seconds.
I realise the PD-170P is of course a PAL camera but thought this would be possible.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Oh yeah - and capture is possible in Vegas 6 with no issues

Well if another NLE captures from this camera / tape combination, then the problem must be a software (Avid) not a hardware (PD-170P) problem.

Exactly but have used every combination of settings i could think off. Any ideas?

Unless the camera plays back NTSC and PAL, I can't imagine the NTSC part of this working.

Yes the camera does play back both NTSC and PAL. Also currently trying with a DSR-45p which also playsback the tape. no joy either
