Capturing 24P on XL1

So I'm using an XL1 as my deck to capture some 24P footage shot with the DVX100. The DVX was set to standard 24P mode, not 24PA. That being said, is there any reason why I would *not* be able to use the XL1 as my deck? I just hooked it up to the ole G5 and started to capture and there's a major problem. It glitches like every two seconds really badly.

Since the DVX writes the 24P or 24PA frames to tape in the form of standard 60i fields using a pulldown, seems like any camera or deck that plays 60i tapes should work okay.

That's exactly what I thought. Well, I'm gonna go try an actual deck and if that doesn't work, I know the tape is FUBAR.
