Capture Query

I know its not really a dvx question but I am a dvx user. I shot some footage on my mates Sony Z1 in HD the other day, I just shot it on normal Mini DV tapes. Today I tried to view it on my DVX 100 and nothing is coming up, I then tried to capture it on a Sony DSR deck and nothing? Is this normal? Will I need the Z1 to see and capture the footage? Cheers.

A dvx does not support the HD codec, you are going to need to capture with the Z1.

The DVX100 is SD. As far as I know, SD and HD are not compatible. You need to capture with a HD camera or deck.
