Capture Card HDMI AVerTV HD DVR

I record Xbox gameplay with it and I wouldn't recommend it. It only captures 1080i and it needs a really strong video card to work. I tried capturing footage from my HV20 and it was choppy as hell. The capture is software dependent and the stock sofware sucks. Once I upgraded my video card I was able to use FRAPs to capture vs the stock capture sofware.

You need a serious PC to use that and if you have a serious PC, spend the extra cash and buy the black magic intensity. Stay away from Avermedia.

Thanks for the input...but i am getting a pretty powerful computer...do you have a Panasonic gh2 to try the capture with though? that would be great if you can do it!

I have a canon hv20 that does live HDMI out and on my setup I couldn't capture 1080i. I record my xbox games at 720p and it records fine with fraps but the stock sofware suffers the same problems as the GH1. Bad codec bitrate. Green scenes are especially problematic, also the codec messes up and it won't record audio properly when you try to convert it to another format. I've had a ton of problems and if I had bought a Happauge HD PVR I wouldn't of had any of those problems and I could of captured at 1080i.

Black Magic is industry standard and it costs $80-90 more. Spend the extra cash to get the best and you'll save yourself lots of problems.
