Capture Camera

Does anyone have a recommendation for a DV camera used to capture video? I've been getting non-stop lock-ups and dropped frames from a 5 year old Canon Optura I use to capture. I looked up the Panasonic DV player but it's $1,000.

I use a Panasonic I got at Costco. Model PV-GS83. Has worked fine for me. I like it because it has a toggle switch control like I'm used to with the DVX. I HATE cameras with touch screen controls, like some of the sonys.
