capture camera for dvx

So ive been capturing my footage from my dvx100b and vx2100 with a canon zr800 for a while now. I use sony premiums in the vx and dvx and dont put any other kind of tape in capture camera.

Both the vx and dvx record all the footage fine without glitches. When i go to capture the footage in the canon capture camera it comes up with blue horitzantal lines nad smaller glitches and audio drop outs.

I tried to run a panasonic head cleaning tape a couple times but it didnt seem to help, a couple days ago this capture camera was capturing everything fine then all the sudden the glitches/drop outs and lines came up.

Anyone have any suggestions on how i could get capture camera to read the tape the right way. Any cleaning helps are appriciated. thanks

If you can't get the capture cam to work properly for that specific tape, then its just best to use the cam that the tape was originally recorded with. Thats what some of my buddies do when one or two tapes don't work properly on their capture cam.

All the best,

every tape that was filmed properly without any glitches when i put it into the capture camera it gets the black horitznal lines across the screen and glitches and gets audio drop outs. Its not ruining the tapes its just playing them not the right way, i can capture the tapes with my dvx fine. Anyone have any tips on how i can clean the heads on it myself, I know there is a tutorial for the dvx100a heads. anyone have any tips for me to try and clean the heads myself thanks.

i recently got my dvx and i was wondering the procedure on that. Do most people capture the tapes with a seperate camera, or just with the camera it was recorded on?
thanks.

alot of people use cheaper cameras and tape decks to capture there footage so the dvx camera heads dont get worn down. when heads get worn down the footage will get frame/audio dropouts and glitches.

I think my capture camera is working again i dunno what was wrong with it.

try a sony head cleaner,

panasonic is i believe a dry lubricated tape, so i would assume their head cleaners work better with dry tapes
and sony is the opposite type and wet lubricated

i had this problem but used a sony head cleaner with panasonic tapes and it didnt help until i used a panasonic head cleaner with them

might have just been a random fix for me but worth a shot
