Capture 24fps In Final Cut Pro From Pal Camera

Now, I know there is a lot of info on the net and on this site regarding this but, I can't find any info on capturing 24p with Final Cut Pro (v 4.5 HD ) from a PAL camera ( UK ). I don't seem to be able to find the correct pref. panel in FCP to set it all up! Can anyone tell me how to do it? I have found the capture pref panel but this
doesn't seem to give a 24fps capture option. Any guidance would be a great help.

I have no experience with FCP, but just to make it clear, PAL is not 24p, it is 25p.

You can't capture 24p from PAL footage. You have to capture in 25p and then convert to 24p.

Right ok, thanks for the info, umm, how do I set up to capture 25p....

Set your capture settings to DV PAL. Then in your sequence set your field dominance to none.

OK, I have found the correct capture setting, clicked on "show all" in easy set up panel and there it was!! This artical helped a lot.

Thanks for the last post, I'm starting to feel stupid here but I have no idea what field dominance is....Or where to find it so I can set it to none.
