Cap HD footage with NON-HD consumer cam?

I shot some stuff last week with an FX1 in HDv.

But turns out, the firewire port is fried. :furious3:
Can I capture this footage with a NON-HD consumer
camera?

Not sure what the consumer camera is but i know its not HD
Using FCP 6

No, that will not work. You have to have a hi-def camera/deck that is designed to read the same signal that was recorded.

If you shot in 60i, you can capture from any HDV camera or deck. It has to be HDV.

Can't capture 60i from a JVC deck or camera. Has to be a Sony or Canon HDV camera or deck.

Thanks guys.. The port on the FX1 magically started working... go figure..
