Have you updated your firmware? I don't think the HMC-150 was compatible with class 10 cards out of the box. However, a firmware update should fix that.

Class 10 is not just a faster class, it is a 3.0 spec. Classes 2, 4 and 6 are 2.0 spec. Upgrade your firmware.

Keep in mind that you have to use the SanDisk SDHC card reader if you want to see 30 MB/sec transfer speed. The SanDisk reader has a special high speed mode that it will utilize when a SanDisk Extreme card is being read. Using any other reader, your SanDisk Extreme card will max out at 20 MB/sec.

I am a big fan of the Patriot IRIS SDHC cards, but it appears that no SDHC reader ( including the SanDisk reader ) will transfer data faster than 20MB/sec. I plan on contacting Patriot to see if they have any solution to getting the maximum read speed from their SDHC cards.

Would you mind explaining that comment? "Update your firmware."... as opposed to updating your software? Not familiar with that.

Normally, software is something that resides on a storage device and is loaded into RAM when the whole system boots up. A camera does not boot up when you turn it on. Umm, actually some cameras have some sort of reboot procedures. Damn those cameras that are now just computers with a lenses.

Go to Panasonic site and load down the instruction and data for the upgrade.
Caution: Last time I was there it did not support win 7, lucky me I still had a computer with win XP and that did the trick.
Also, you will need the charger/adapter that plugs into the wall. And don't forget to black balance after the upgrade.
Hope this helps.
