GH5 Cant update h-fs100300

Noted that Panny update firmware for select set of lenses, 100-300 being one of them. 1) Checked my lens version = 1.0. 2. Go to site, download, etc. etc. 3) Full battery, formatted card, etc. etc. 4) Get No Valid Picture to Display Panny says this happens if no firmware upgrade needed. Yet, my ver shows 1.0, the site says they're out with 1.2. Tried two different GH (a 3 and a 5) with lens mounted. Tried OIS on/off. Any help greatly appreciated!
 
Thanks for the heads up! Interesting for sure. I did try 1,2,4,8,32 cards but no joy. I'm wondering if this is a somehow somewhere defective lens that won't take an update.
 
Not sure it matters (maybe it could for some companies), but is it a USA lens or grey market?
