GH2 Cant see HDMI out while shooting

I can watch playback, but not monitor while recording from my GH2. I have tried on both my TV and on a Marshall V-LCD651STX-3GSDI (I even tried using my ki-pro to convert the HDMI from the camera to SDI 1080i for the monitor). Composite output from the camera behaves the same. My GH2 is in Manual Movie Mode. I can't figure out what i'm missing (yes, I searched the manual :)).

First : cabling, the mini-HDMI connection needs to be good, I usually have to "deeply" plug the mini-HDMI connector. I think there must be some negotiation when plugging, because once connected and recognized, the connection is more tolerant to moves
second : it really depends on the screen you're using. I have 2 iiyama screens and a beamer, one of the 2 LCDs works, the other doesn't. The beamer works fine (and it's only a 720p device).

I am not in mjpeg, I am doing 1080i. The mini HDMI cable will carry a playback signal, it's just that I can't see an image on the monitor when I'm recording. The behavior is the same for my TV: I can see playback of a clip, but no image when I'm using the camera to record. I just found that I am on firmware 1.0, and there is a 1.4 firmware download available. I'll see if that helps.

I went thru my menus again, and all the ext tele were off, and the rec mode was 1080i. I connected thru a different port to my tv and voila that worked. The attempt to use the KiPro bridge to my ext monitor, which has only SDI or Component inputs, via SDI out from the KiPro (and also to the TV via HDMI out) , which has only SDI or composite inputs, still fails. I'm moving on. Thanks for your input!

One of the solutions would be to try a full reset of the camera setup to factory (right above format in the menu) this should put you in a situation where the image should show up when recording. If still not working, you may want to call Panasonic customer service.
