Can't render ..

I have several (like 4-5) audio tracks overlapping on certain points of my film, edited on FCP 6 on a macpro w/ 8gb ram and 1T HD space.

all of the sudden, when I go to render all audio or rander > both (audio and video). It loads as if it's rendering but the red bars on top of my overlapping audio parts stay the same...and when I play the video, it beeps when it gets to those parts as if I didn't render. So when I try to re-render, it does nothing as if it's already rendered.

my footage is 1080/24pA from HVX200a.

any help? thanks

You know, I don't have an answer - but this happens to me all the time. And I can't make heads or tails of it. So - it's not just you. I have issues as well.

ah, well that does sorta make me feel better...

but what have you done to fix or get rid of the problem? I assume you have somehow worked around it..?

ah! I just fixed it by accident...

turns out when I went to render > .... I did not have "for playback" under "audio" checkmarked. ...same with some other one, wasn't checkmarked. so I made sure by selecting everything under render video and audio so it was all checkmarked...then when to render> "both" and it rendered everything...took a couple minutes but it's all fine now. no more red bars.

Check to make sure that "needs rendering" (red), or whichever setting matches the color of your render bar for those sections, is selected in the dropdown menu.

EDIT: GND... looks like you replied to your post at the exact same time that I replied. Glad you found the setting!
