can't print to video from final cut to dvx

Hi, I am having a hard time getting the footage I edited on final cut back to my dvx. Everything is rendered. I have plugged in 2 different firewire cables and still can't get it to print. I was having this problem last week a couple of hours before I had a project due but it started working somehow. Shouldn't the footage in the canvas show up on the dvx's monitor when the camera is on, in vcr mode, and connected? The screen is staying blue. Any Suggestions? Thanks. Jamie
