Can't play video in Record monitor..

I ran into a pretty big problem on my client's avid system today..

For the past 2 weeks, I've been editing fine on my client's avid system, but today I'm having trouble viewing my project in the record monitor. Whenever I press spacebar or play, the record monitor just shows a frozen still shot while I can hear the audio play just fine.

However, I can still scrub through the timeline and view my project in the record monitor (only seeing it through fast scrubbing). I can still edit fine, but it's pretty irritating not seeing my project in motion in the record monitor whenever I press play or spacebar. My client also has the Boston Sample Project and the same thing happens.

My client's specs:
Intel Quad Core
Windows XP SP2
2 GB RAM
2 500 GB SATA HDD space
Avid Media Composer 3.0 (not an adrenaline, mojo, etc system)

Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks.

Edit: Video card is an Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT with 1024 MB. I heard Avid has trouble with Nvidia so that might be the case?

Update: Sorta fixed the problem. I went into color correction mode and the record monitor was playing properly again. It seems to have problems with me resizing or moving the source/record windows so I made sure avid saved the settings and things are working again.

does a white border flash when you hit PLAY?

if so, then either you have a bin partially obscuring the record-side window or it is hanging off the edge of the computer screen. in Avid, the record side monitor must be 100% visible and free of obstructions to play back.

Yeah, that's what happens!

The record side was hanging off the edge of the screen the entire time. It was a little hard to notice at first, but I moved it and everything is working again.

Thanks!
