And now onto my question...

So I've been trying to use my old monitor we used to catch a burgerlar many years ago as a field monitor for my next shoot, its black and white we just wanna watch whatever the cameraman records ect. I took some pics and ill list them below but i really hope this is possible.

What ive come to think is i just need somthing that goes to composite (or the bnc or somthing.. if we took off the adapters) going to coponent out, or hdmi, or best xlr if possible...? Never used a field monitor before but id like to learn. Expecially since i already own this id like to be able to use it.

So heres the pics

This here is the VCR. The outs have some adapter thing on it.

heres the model ect:

And here is the monitor plugs:

The top one goes to our "old" security camera.. cheap s.o.b lol...
Then the bottom one goes to the VCR, converts to the composite cable.
heres model # ect:

So i hope you guys can help me out here.. our shoots this thursday night. we dont NEED the monitors but would be very nice to have, and begin learning ect. I believe it may just be a survelance monitor.. but i highly hope with the vcr thing we can manage to use it all then it may work..

might just be a loss battle though :embarasse:violin:

**EDIT**

PS.
We also have a PC laptop and a macbook pro available, if theres any cable setup we can get to view stuff ect.. Just want to see whats being recorded without having to buy anything but the cables, were hopping we can use some type of monitor to do the job =p

I may be totally off base...

You need another one of the VCR adapter cables you are talking about. Or just use this one while you are shooting. Go composite out of the cam, into your monitor.

Other thing is to take apart the adapter you do have, and replicate the same thing by splicing a phone line and component cable - to make your own adapter.

This monitor is old I asume and going from hdmi or component doesn't make much sense.
