cant hear aud from mac with firewire to dvx100

i have a direct feed from a mackie board to the dvx100b thru the xlr's.On the camera i can hear it when Im live on livestrea.com.but when i hook it up firewire from the camera to the Mac pro i cant hear nothing.?? please I need help!
 
It might be the firewire port. On my macbook, it used to only import audio when I captured. I tried different cables and different cameras but nothing. It turned out the firewire port had somehow gotten damaged so I had to have it fixed. Try different ports.
 
ok..that would be something.well you can hear audio when i just use the dvx camera's mics. if i hooked the direct feed and listen to the audio strait from the camera i can. its just when i turn on livestream? must be in livestream or mac settings..hope its not the fire wire port like andy said...
