I have been trying to properly install the p2 drivers on my PC so that I can patch in my HVX200 to offload p2's thru drag and drop. I always get stuck in the same window--"conect your HVX200 with USB2"-- nothing works. I did , by the way. make sure the USB port was enabled in the camera menu. I have also tried various usb patch cables that work on other devices.

I could use my laptop by inserting the P2 card in its PCICIA slot , which is my "in the field workflow"--but I don't want to use the laptop for my at home workflow. I'm having having quite a time establishing a "at home" workflow for offloading . I have a hi-power home-built PC and I use Sony Vegas, using the Raylight Plugin to directly import mxf's. Works great.
But I have a home workflow problem for offloading p2's. By the way, is the computer supossed to see the camera after the drivers are installed, (popup window)?Help!

Did you put the HVX in pc mode? you have to press the button on the back to switch it to MCR mode (to view the thumbnails) then press and hold that same button for about 3-5 seconds, it will switch the camera to PC mode allowing to to be connected directly to the computer.

To exit this mode you have to turn the camera off.

When it tells you to connect the HVX, you have to have set the PC MODE menu setting to USB Device, then you have to press the MODE button to go to MCR mode, then you have to hold the MODE button down for three seconds until the camera LCD says "USB Disconnect". If you then connect it using the mini-USB cable, it should pop up saying "USB Connect" and then you'll finish installing the drivers.
