Can't export to MiniDV

Please excuse me for posting on this thread, but there is no other option on this board for my Panasonic PV-GS300. I figure some of you may have started with this model and moved up to the 100.

Anyway, I am trying to export a project from Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 back to MiniDV tape without success. I click on the Export to tape option, and the window shows that it's rendering, but the camera won't start to record. Instruction manual is not much help. Are you supposed to have the camera "on" and in the record mode? That's what I have been doing.

Please help me with this frustrating problem.
 
"Playback" mode is the same as VTR. Put your camera into this mode in order to record from your computer.
