The c200mk2 (maybe?) rumored specs and price have dropped. Maybe I will get this instead of an A7SIII. It probably won't have IBIS, but if it's smaller than a 1DXmk3 as claimed, it can definitely ride on my Ronin-s: https://www.canonrumors.com/rf-moun...campaign=Feed:+canonrumors/rss+(Canon+Rumors)

"As previously reported, Canon will be announcing a Cinema EOS camera with an RF mount, likely in late August ahead of when IBC is usually held.

Canon RF mount Cinema EOS camera rumored Specifications:

Same Super35 sensor as the Canon Cinema EOS C200
Internal ND filters (mechanical) up to 6 stops
2x Mini XLR inputs
Full-size HDMI
4K 4:2:2 10bit in ALL-I and IPB up to 120p
1x CFexpress Type B Slot
2x SD UHS-II slots
External RAW recording options up to 4K 120P
2x LP-E6NH batteries
Camera size smaller than the EOS-1D X Mark III
Price: $4499 USD"

Well if it's RAW, the Atomos' could handle it via SDI.

Haven't heard of any HDMI ProRes RAW more than 4K/60p...yet.

smaller than 1dx iii is the most exciting part of the list.

It seems awfully similar to a C300mk3 for half the price, though. So what do they ditch? Probably DGO? Obviously internal RAW. Less ND? Worse audio pre-amps? No SDI?

I just hope it has DPAF II and a touch-focus screen. And a focus area remote control wifi app

Old Inferno could too, and new ones from Blackmagic can but I think only BM RAW.

It looks like C100 MKIII. Might there be enough room for C200MKII at ~ $7,000-$7,500? Hmmmm ...

Then what would the c200mkii have that the c100mk3 didn't? Internal RAW? Then what would it lack that the C300mk3 had? DGO? I dunno....they'd be slicing the segmentation pretty thin. But great from a consumer standpoint - pay a few more bucks if you want the extra features, save money if you don't.

6 stops of ND is pretty bad IMO. You know what they say - once you go ten you never go back.

As well as what you said:
- less integrated if using a larger battery
- inability to use the canon EVF if it doesn't have Canon's VIDEO connector

I don't think there's much point comparing it to the c300 iii unless you're considering both.

It would have the R6/1D X MKIII 5.5K sensor, maybe CRL, maybe IBIS, no dual gain.

I really hope it's an ILC XC10. The raw would be nice, but what I really want is that new AI-enhanced DPAF.
In RF mount?

Why couldn't the xc10 have RF mount?

The body size seems to fit their smaller-than-1dxmk3 description. No ND on the xc10 though

The xc10 launched at $2500. Bump the 1" sensor up to 35mm, add ND and 4K120p...I think the price of $4500 makes sense from Canon

XC10/15 interchangeable lens camera has been talked about on CR for at least 3 years...very well could be.

There is ND on the XC10/15. 3 stops. It's engaged in the menu or assigned to a button, IIRC.

It makes sense for the workhorse C100 line in a C100 body. It doesn't make as much sense to have an s35 sensor in an RF mount.

Nonetheless.

if these specs are true than 6 stops of ND is sad. The C200 has 10 stops and I use it at 8 and 10 stops all of the time.
2x LP-E6NH might be weird too unless they have a lot more Mah than the current LP-E6s? They are small and not very high capacity batteries.
At least with two you can hot swap them I assume?

I'm really interested to see the form factor. WTH is it? Is it a new, higher end XC-15? Just by Canon instinct, I will be surprised if it has SDI out.
Too bad no IBIS.

I think they're expecting people to use a focal reducer since they're releasing one of their own. They also have their crappy APS-C lenses that cam adapt. (17-55 version 2, where are you?!)

I dunno - for someone who just wanted a 10-bit c200 with a slightly smaller body, this seems like a win. Raw out can lead to nice file size and playback ProRes raw

They're reusing the existing sensor and, simultaneously, creating some space in between the models. S35 4K is good enough for the corporate and the events/weddings, especially if given the 10-bit 4:2:2 Log. C200, which doesn't have the 10-bit, will ride into the sunset and be replaced by C200 MKII with 6K, CRL and what not.

If one looks at the overall Canon camera strategy, it's becoming clear that, beside the consumer, they're concentrating on the low to medium pro gear, with much tighter spacing than before. When C100 was announced in 2012, it was $8,000, C300 was $16,000 and C500 was $30,000, almost a perfect 2X price spacing structure. Now, it's going to be $4,500, ~ $7,000, $11,000 and $16,000 or ~ 1.5X spacing. If this pattern continues, then C700 MKII will be around $22,000 with 8K at room temperatures.

Their next step is pro glass. Currently, it's in pro territory. With the cameras moving lower and tighter, it'd make sense for them to star thinking of much lower priced RF cinema lenses because the big money is in the AF bodies anyway.
