You are looking at a used Canon XH A1 A Kit. Originally purchased from B&H Video/Photo on Jan 2007. The kit was used for about 16 projects, each running around 2-6hrs in length + capture[digital archive] time as well. Projects ranged from non-profit org conferences, personal shorts, weddings, and a retail safety video.
I took very good care of this camera by having it stored inside a petrol bag which remained zipped while it was not in use.
I should also mention that the last time I used the camera was in July 2011 after upgrading to a Canon 5DII and thus the XH-A1 remained in cold, dry storage until now.
The camera still works, and still in very good condition if not excellent. Zoom is good, audio input level indicators check out. As you might know or not, this camera was designed with a loose mic, I made sure I never bothered it. It never broke, I kept it that way by using a shotgun mic instead via xlr inputs. XLR inputs are fine just incase you are wondering. Cleaned the heads whenever I had a chance for a few seconds, though the camera never showed any issues with the head.
There is a tiny little scratch on the mic, a missing screw on the lcd panel arm bridge/mount and just little scratches here and there on the chassis. The lens of the camera is perfect with no visible marks.
I purchased 2x panasonic digital video head cleaners, opened one and ran it for about 10 seconds. There is still some left on the first tape and a full unopened second tape.
