Canon VIXIA HF S200

I want a camera for film making and these are the three models I'm thinking about.

It seems that all the Canon camcorder and DSLR's have aliasing and moire problems, but have native 24p.

With the Canon VIXIA HF S200 I get auto-focus. I know manual focus is better. But the focus nob on the Canon VIXIA HF S200 is just ok.

Canon VIXIA HF S200 records in AVCHD good and bad about AVCDH but the Canon VIXIA HF S200 does have native 24p.

Canon VIXIA HF S200 is just ok in low light.

Canon VIXIA HF S200 ican put a mic and also headset so i can hear feed back. The Canon 5D can do this with a firmware hack. Do not know about the T2i

Canon T2i

Canon T2i manual focus is very nice. Aliasing and moire suck and rolling shutter.

The video as not as good as the Canon 5D but the T2i can still make some great video.

Audio of the T2i not the best, I know about the work a rounds.

Auto focus sucks on the T2i I can live with it not a huge problem but would be nice to have.

Panasonic GH-1

Panasonic GH-1 1080p have to do a pull down to get raw 24p, but there is a firmware hack out now.

Auto focas from what I hear is good.

Panasonic does not have a lot of lens, but you can buy mounts for about almost any brand out there.

I have heard playing with the colors in post from the GH-1 is a little hard?

i've owned the GH1, and i now own the 2Ti , GH1 was solid but it has no live out from hdmi was a filmmaking killer for me, plus it seemed like it was too contrasty in the final video but lots of lens choices was nice.

The canon was my choice .the codec is easier to work with and transcode.

autofocus was not really a concern of mine. i'm sure the HF has great auto focus but nothing beats good manual focus.

if it were me i would snag either the Canon or the GH1 bodies and put cash into the the lenses and accessories
