Hi there!:D..

I wanted to know if you can adapt the following Canon video lens to the GH1 with sucess??

"Canon Video Lens 16x Zoom XL 5.5-88mm IS"

I was thinking about this for a whyle now as this lenses look very interesting for this matter....
I know this lens was built for a 1/3" video sensor and the focal range is VERY "small" to match the area of the GH1´s cmos as this one IS pretty large for the most of the focal lenghts of the mentioned Video lenses (5,5mm - 88mm...).
Any body knows about the real issues/artifacts that this lenses could add to the GH1´s cmos if was attached to this one (via an adapther..)?

If it's built for 1/3" sensors, then not likely. Look for 1" or Super-16mm lenses instead, you'll have better chances in that region. :)

That´s make sense fellow, so I sould look at these larger sensor lenses as you very well said. Anyways I will be making some research regarding to the Canon lenses I´ve been talking about as I´ve bought them yet via Ebay for about 97euro...The It´s worth to try them now isn,t it?..;)..

I have been digging around into old topics here and into other forums and the prospects for zoom lenses being able to cover the image sensor I would say isn't good. The best looking that I've seen being tested is this http://vimeo.com/7616171. But the brand and the model is so ambigus it's hard to follow from there. I would prefer this lens though just cos' of how portable it looks to be, irregardless of the vignetting.

Your best bet right now is from this guy http://forum.getdpi.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13136, I myself have just gotten one at a good deal. Waiting for it to ship. And by virtue of the other ebay sellers selling at 500-600 odd, I think I may have found the gold pot from a dry mine. BTW, prime c mount lenses wise most above 35mm would pretty much cover the image circle. 25mm might vignette, but I like the look.

Will tell you how it goes.
