But by that measure, the NEX-5N and the D5200 are HUGE improvements on any current APS-C Canon DSLR.
I always wonder about comments like that. Because I bought the Canon 7d when it first appeared years ago and it's still better (in stills and in video) than the nex-5n which I also own. I would rather use it to shoot a film than the NEX-5n. Still people are glamoring how a huge improvement the 5n is supposed to be. It isn't. Stills quality is pretty much the same, except harder to use and in film mode the 5n has a couple of huge drawbacks. Rolling shutter in 1080p25 (slightly worse than the 7d), codec that breaks more easily and worse low light. (harder to clean with neatvideo as the shadow noise is very blobby). Only thing better on the 5n is a bit less moire in 25p mode.
So what is this HUGE improvement? Seriously? The 7d has a sensor that is almost 4 years old and I'd still rather shoot with it than the 5n.
Now I also have the 5dmarkIII and that is actually a HUGE improvement compared to the 7d, not the 5n.
