Aren't you glad you listen to me last nightWell B&H is now sold out.
Glad I ordered mine last night with some cards and a 50mm 1.8 lens.
Should have it by Friday or so.

Any theories on why the body only package is so hard to find? My only guess is that Canon had a limited number of units to sell so they decided to go after the consumer who expects a lens to come with their camera. Of course I might be wrong.
As I said before. Check your local camera store. Chances are the ones that serve the pro market will have some laying around as most pros wouldn't be caught dead with a Rebel at a pro shoot.

Truly un called for post on your part. I am sick and tired of Pros vs Consumer. Remember people laughing at the 7d when it first came out, look at them now......
The kit lens only cost $100 more, relax people it's not that serious.........
It's late. I meant to say most pro photographers. And I might have been a little harsh. For professional photographers, I would guess the Rebel would be their b camera at best or a back up camera. The best correlation I can come up with is the balcony camera I use in my business. It's nowhere near the quality of my FX 1 but it works great in the right light and on wide.
Would I use the balcony camera for my main camera? Probably not unless my main camera craps out and I need something to shoot with. My guess is that this is how most photogs feel about the Rebel. That's why it was my theory that your best shot at getting a body only package would be the pro stores.
I have no qualms taking the little guy to a shoot as my main camera myself. In fact I'll be doing just that when I shoot a friend's wedding in Cabo and for everything but the ceremony for stateside shoots. It looks like it shoots great video and that's enough for me. Hope I clarified and sorry if anyone took offense!
Chris W,
Harsh over here as well, at the end of the day these are only tools. Fx1 is an amazing camera but easily cost 3x as much. Also I believe it's about the line of work you are into. For weddings I would go with a video camera, for artistic things such as music videos ,commercials basically controlled areas where you can feed your shot light and control everything then these dslrs work amazing.
It's late here as well and honestly I'm mad because Amazon has not received their orders in yet, so I might cancel and pay like an extra $50-80 just to have it by Friday......
So yeah I'm mad , really mad :badputer:
