Canon R5 refusing to record with Zeiss CP2 (EF Mount)

Needing some help.
I have an R5 with the basic rf-ef canon adapter and a couple of Zeiss CP2 lenses with EF mounts.
Unfortunately, I am unable to record with these lenses on. This is a massive disappointment as I've just sunk thousands of dollars into these lenses.
I'm hoping that there is a setting in-camera that can override the camera's refusal to record as this makes this camera/lens combo unusable and severally diminishes the cameras usefulness.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

That's what you have to do with most of these kind of cameras for like the last 15 years since by default they are looking to electronically communicate with something.
