"Spend the evening with Alex Buono, Saturday Night Live's film unit DP, at the Canon Hollywood Professional Support and Technology Center. In this unique presentation, the Explorer of Light and Oscar-nominated cinematographer will share his personal experiences shooting with the EOS C300 and explains why the 1080/8-bit specs “do not tell the whole story.” As a special bonus, Mr. Buono will screen footage shot with the EOS C300 for NBC’s Saturday Night Live.At the conclusion of the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to have their questions answered by Mr. Buono and Canon technical representatives."

I'll be there......last Saturday, Canon rounded up Chrosziel, Arri, RedRock, Cinevate, Zacuto, etc to show off all the accessories for the C300. Of the many things that were shown, Zacuto is going to remote the C300 handle to the left handle on the Stinger rig.....nice idea.....I think Redrock is going to be doing the same.

I was part of the panel launching the C300 across Canada with Alex. His presentation is great. Gives you a clear understating of how the C 300 works, and how the sensor is different than others. He also shows some funny clips from SNL. Well worth seeing.

Yea, Alex did a great job last night.....he was really emphasizing the importance of luminance over resolution and how special this 4K chip is. In his situation, he has about 24hrs to shoot, edit, color, and deliver a short film/commercial for the beginning of each SNL......and he has used the Red1, 5D, 7D, F3, and now is just using the C300. He called it and it's work flow is perfect for his very tight schedule......and he repeated what many other pros who have shot with the camera have said "the performance of the C300 exceeds the spec sheet".

It was an excellent and very enlightening presentation. Hopefully Aelx can make it available online somewhere - anyone interested in the C300, and what it's technology means, should see it.
