Woah...Too bad your attached to a computer, and from what I'm looking at, it captures the liveview stream, we'll see what comes of this and what the compression is like?
Just a matter of time until they hack the 5D to allow full manual control..... My other Canon DSLR has a hacked firmware and it functions better with more features than canon's crippled firmware...
The biggest problem with the D90 is overheating & shut-down of the LCD during LV. I experienced this first hand on the weekend when I was shooting video & stills intermittently during a wedding photo shoot. I used the camera for about one hour and shot around 30 minutes of video (not all in one go) and eventually the camera went into shut down.
The D90 is a great intro to vDSLR, however, now that I'm starting to use it professionally it's limitations are becoming a major PITA. I'll be waiting eagerly for the next Nikon Video DSLR which I hope will address the D90's shortcomings... after having invested heavily in Nikon lenses & accessories I hope they don't let any of us down.
I've posted this yesterday (http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=160109) along with some video samples but it didn't get much attention. I think this is a huge deal and the door to the future is once again opened. Here is the link I've posted on the other thread:
the downer, is that you have to be linked to the laptop during recording time.
you cant lock the exposure and footy it`s not really usable handheld... other than that, keep on rocking hackers (although I don't own a canon, and from what I saw on 5dmark II, not yet convinced to give up d90/24p)
