Canon Full Frame Video Camera with over 4 million ISO sensitivity

The photosites on this thing have four times the area of those in the a7S, so, if you need to shoot in low light and have the budget for this cube thing... O_O

It is a niche product with a price accordingly. Most likely it is aimed at night life documentary work and/or scientific work (but I would think less science since it has a "crowd pleasing" sensor size and mount). I don't know how well it stacks up against other "scientific cameras" in price and quality, but it is clear that in pro-sumer video work it knocks everything out of the park.

Wow, affordable. Thanks Canon.
It is very affordable for the purpose it is meant for. Why do people have this attitude that "every" camera should be designed for their needs. People link to these cameras and other "niche" cameras to look and marvel at more than "yes, I need that in my next shoot". This camera is an amazing product that even if it was cheaper people would ***** and moan because they would buy it not knowing what it is meant to do. It probably has crap DR, color fidelity, etc. but that stuff doesn't matter for the people it is intended for...

Why are you so pissed off about? Do you work for Canon? Geez, we all have a right to comment without having the Shame Police all over us.

He is making a good point in that there is way too much snarking going on lately of which I agree 100%.....just look at the comments a few made about Barry Green and the DVX200....and it's the way some people are saying/posting things...things are being posted that one would never say to someone else in person.....there are better ways to get one's opinion across.....
There, I'm playing a cop again!

PS - remember what Auntie Em said to Miss Gulch in the Wizard of OZ as she took Toto away?

Just the other day I was wondering if I can mount a camera in cave for the leopard documentary that I am self producing and this is the answer. Unfortunately, at this point of time it is out of my budget. However, it is just a question of getting financing for the concept and this camera can be easily bought.

There are some leopards who are extremely skittish when I switch on even a torch light. And there are many nocturnal subjects that can be recorded without affecting their behaviour. This is a speciality camera and not for everyone else. I don't understand why people are laughing.

Nope, I don't work for Canon.

It is just the same thing as someone thinking a joke is bad just because they don't understand it. You don't seem to know whom this product is made for. It is the same level as someone being unhappy about Ferrari cause their newly announced car doesn't have space for a family of six.

I mean, really, 30K for a niche product, it is a bargain compared to other niche cameras like Phantom vision...

Maybe it would be good for filming one of those found footage movies like Paranormal activity. Not a fan of found footage, just sayin'.
