Canon FD lens set up/rig

Ok, I'm back from vacation, and as promised, here is the picture of
my cheapo 'rig' for my FD lens set up. These FD lenses are heavy
and need lens support, so I had to get something. Pictured is the
28-90 F2.8 lens. I will be posting some video from this set up soon.
I have longer rails and a shoulder mount on order, but I can
at least shoot off the tripod now without being worried about the lens
mount having too much weight on it.

It's actually not Red Rock, it all came in the 'cheapo' combo off ebay here:

So it has a lens support on it, which was important for me. The whole rigging set up is around $100. (This rail set up is on ebay from
different vendors at different prices....from $80-$120. I got it for $80). The sunshade was about $30 here:

I ordered a cheap shoulder mount here:

It's all standard 15mm stuff. You can buy longer rails for $30 and make a longer rig, you can get a cheap follow focus off ebay,
all kinds of stuff. I have a heliopan so not spending $600 on a mattebox with slide in filters right now.

Nice choices. The bolts holding the base plate together (in the parts breakdown view) look strong. I think the cheapo version I got has smaller bolts, may choose to spot weld the plates together as an added safety factor.

I like the height adjustment on the lens hood. I got a low cost matte box that has the swing away feature, and it has no height adjustment. Adjusting the height of the box has got to be more convenient than adjusting the height of the camera, although once done maybe there won't be a need to mess with it further.

You will be happy happier with your rig with a follow focus.

I want to hear how you like your should mount set up.

Yeah, it's actually a much more solid set up than I was expecting for the money.....I wanted height adjustments for the lens mount
and the lens hood, and lucky that these cheaper versions had them. I am piecing it together as I go. I'll let you know
about the shoulder mount, but as I am in Alaska, it takes awhile for these overseas parts to get to me.
