Canon FD Lens Adapter Recommendations

Hi there,
I'm looking for recommendations for an adapter that will work with the GH1 and an older Canon FD lens. I've seen a couple different ones on eBay and would like to hear some experiences from the community. Find one that's tight, reliable and works every time or did you buy one that has a sloppy fit and just generally sucks?

Let's hear about it. Also, links to Web pages would be appreciated.

Thanks!

JW Lee

I have several that I leave on my FD lenses. $24.00 each on ebay. They work great for the price. Build and fit are good. I looked at $180.00 ones but couldn't justify the price difference

Hi, I just bought my GH1 plus a $25 nikon to m4/3 adapter, but once I turn on the camera it gives me a message "Please check that the lens is correctly attached" and it is, it fits perfect, so I have no idea of what's happening :(

I don't know if you tried this already but in the motion picture menu on the GH1, have you turned ON the setting "Shoot w/o lens"?

Yeah, what Pmk396 said. You have to go into the menu and turn on "Shoot w/o Lens" mode. You can still use the focus assist with manual lenses which in my opinion is a Godsend!

Movie, thanks for that. I did not know I could use focus assist with a manual lens, you just saved me a huge headache tonight on a shoot. Now I can focus on dealing with my other headaches.

Thanks pmk396, I began feeling nauseous when I saw the error message, I did what you say and it works perfectly. Those days will be dedicated to learn all the tricks with the camera and its menu. :)

Lol! Yeah, I found out the hard way. Sometimes, I guess it actually pays to read that booklet thingy that comes with the camera... what's that thing called? Oh yeah, the instruction manual. Lol!

@LMGvideo , after much research the one most people here tend to say is best one , is the one made by ciecio7 via ebay , i bought one about a week ago and seems very well made , can't see one avail from him at the mo.. maybe he's making a number of them before offering for sale....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLd03OJYBOk&feature=player_embedded ( has link to his ebay shop there too ) .. the vid actually helped me attach the lens to it, as i was struggling :)

I have both the ciecio7 and fotodiox adaptors and they are pretty much identical, the fotodiox one will arrive a week sooner.

What is the best option for UK based peeps? Is there any good suppliers locally? I see cieco 7 has no adaptors and fotodiox would work out expensive with shipping and all.
