Canon FD 800mm f5.6L

It's a beautiful lens, the problem that discourages my excitement for my lowly EF100-400 F4.5-5.6L IS USM II is mirage refraction, not any fault of the lens.

Lovely to see those beautiful FD mount lenses with the lens aperture ring. I have a lot of nostalgia for them going back to my film cameras.

As well, last year's winner at the Colorado State Fair was a photograph manipulated by AI. This year you have to certify that your entry does not use AI. They asked the former winner for his opinion about that. He felt that was wrong, that he never knew there were any limits on art. And it reminded me how I felt similarly that digital photography was not art, that photography should be about the film, the darkroom techniques. That's probably wrong too but maybe the answer is to allow the AI, but credit the computer as the artist and not the person.
