While awaiting the release, and reviews on both the Birger and Red Rock adapters I was wondering if these will be able to work with second party ef mount lenses such as Sigma, Tokina and Tamaron. I know in the past there have been issues with the chipsets on some of these lenses as they will sometimes work with older Canon camera bodies, but give errors when mounted on newer ones.

I don't think anyone but Panasonic/Olympus has lens firmware.

I know that Sigma does; a friend had to send his lens in for the update, because his 7D wouldn't talk to the lens.
