Canon 7D - the next sweet-spot in price / features?

Any ideas if this has auto-focus on the video side and if it is faster than the GH-1?

Question: Why are you concerned about auto focus? I would think you would want to control your focus yourself. That's pro use. I mean if you want to use the camera for weddings and events, get a basic video camera with super depth of field, not a camera with low depth of field. I mean every video camera I had would hunt for focus from time to time, if it wasn't for all the depth I may have missed something.

These VDSLRs are super shallow mainly for people insterested in movie like video, to add pazzaz to a video shoot or filmmakers simulating the depth-of-field look in major motion pictures.

You would if you are rack focusing. Otherwise it's much easier to let the camera set your initial focus point for you. No bulky external monitor or straining your eyes trying to figure out if the image is in focus or not.

Yeah, I guess I can see your point. I was looking to buy an Ex1 before the hype on the Canon 7D so I guess I was looking at
7D + Zacuto Rails + Monitor < Sony Ex1. LOL
