Canon 6D Full Frame

I wonder if the video will be as good as the 5d iii, since the 7d and below all had pretty much the same video, will be curious to see if the 6d inherits the 5d iii video specs

6d has digic 5+, 60p on a FF sensor, and hopefully a headphone jack. If so, it's a warm welcomed upgrade that i'd pay for from my 5dII. Digic5+'s are mmmmm

Video features read exactly the same as the ones on the 5D3, so, on paper, it looks kind-of-good: 1080p24-25-30 and 720p50-60, with both all-I and IPB. But those are just that: specs. Wait and see... (btw, that screen resolution has to be a typo: 102400 dots means 228x150 or something like that...)

Ok, the big question we are all waiting for... does it have clean HDMI out? Whoever is in the loop, spill the beans! :)

It seems Canon has lost he plot, My canon served me well but it is time to move on ...... Sony or Nikon..... I am leaning to Sony lets what happens next year.

Except there's no headphone jack, that's a $1400 upgrade.

I highly doubt it would have clean HDMI out. The good news is the Sony A99 and Nikon D600 have clean HDMI out. Wake up Canon or go the way of the dinosaurs.

If this has the same aliasing/moire of the old generation, and a 228x150 LCD screen, I will feel laughed at.

Is it just me, or did Canon not try to make this appealing for video? In the press release, the only mention is of the full frame & a mic input jack. Isn't that what we had 4yeaes ago? Isn't the 5D2 selling for under $2,099 new today?

Is it just me, or did Sony & Nikon both totally beat the 6D before the 6D even showed up?

Is Canon lazy (phoned it in), cocky (thinks it doesn't have to compete) or extremely defensive of the C#00 line?

I got tired a while ago at being disappointed in Canon, now I don't even have any emotion towards them at all. 6D? Good for you...

All of the above.

Come-on folks, pure whining is tedious to read.

At least do the analysis.

Those videos are shot at ISO 12,600 (mine, waterfall) or 6,400 (turtle) if you watch the behind the scenes. They also show the camera shooting video while half submerged in a stream (to show off the weather sealing) with no other outer protective casing. I have never done that before.

The video is 940x540, 3.3 Mbps (bits, not bytes.) What do you expect to see? Artifacts of size and compression.

The screen is 1 million pixel, that was a typo at Canon Rumors.

I am not saying ANYTHING about the camera, good or bad. I agree on HDMI out.

But at least add something useful to the conversation based on some analysis. Otherwise these threads are useless.

Thanks!
Michael

I don't even get excited when I see a Canon dslr releases anymore, I know I'm gonna be like mehh. Why would they give us what we want for 2k when they can get 15k or 30k (estimate) for a cinema cam that has the specs were wishing for in a dslr. Lets face it, Sony, pani, and heck, even Nikon are becoming top dog when it comes to features for dollars. It's just to bad Nikon has some quirky little issues when it comes to the video part of the cam. Otherwise I would be a nikon shooter. I just dont like the live view issue when changing aperature, and I would have to sell and buy new glass.

I think the camera looks great for the price point.

Worth the upgrade from the 5DII...probably not unless it is used for a ton of low light shooting.

I also liked the video of the forest that someone posted, proves that any camera can look good in the right hands.
