canon 5d step up or down ?

hi i just need a little help figuring something out. I was wondering if there is some sort of step up or step down ring you can buy to put old lenses from like a canon ae 1 35mm film lens on a canon 5d type camer ? any help would br great thanks

those lenses are from canon's fd range. they won't fit on modern canon eos cameras.

There are adapters, but they're limited by flange distance at the base of the lens. In this case the EOS mount is too deep, which means adapters won't work quite right. The only way an adapter can be fully functional is with optics, which can downgrade the picture quality. Or it might not, but there's a risk and they are more expensive (note that I haven't actually looked at prices).

Fotodiox makes an adapter for seemingly little expense. I believe Cassius is right in that the optics are most likely a very low quality. But if you really want something to do the job then this is what you are looking for.

anything with an extra piece of glass will have a big impact on image quality
FD to EOS with no extra glass means no infinity focus
